Fuel Operations Supervisor

Our Abbotsford location is seeking an experienced Fuel Operations Supervisor to support our diverse operations. This is a full-time position, working a rotation of 4 days on, 4 days off.

Description:
Reporting to the Base Manager, the Fuel Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and ensuring all facets of fuel and ramp operations are performed in a safe, efficient, and professional manner. The Fuel Operations Supervisor is responsible for developing, administering, and implementing training programs for ramp and fuel operations and supporting oversight of compliance with required safety programs.

Responsibilities:

•    Lead, coach, and develop fuel operations staff, including supporting recruitment, training, performance management, and employee development.
•    Plan, prioritize, and supervise daily fuel, ramp, and related operations to ensure safe, efficient, and effective workflow.
•    Deliver and coordinate theoretical and practical training for staff, airline partners, and vendors in accordance with company and Shell Canada requirements.
•    Conduct learning assessments and ensure completion of recurrent training within required timelines.
•    Maintain accurate training records and documentation within the company’s training database/LMS.
•    Communicate updates to policies, procedures, products, and services impacting operations and customer care.
•    Perform aircraft refuelling and fuel quality control in accordance with company, regulatory, and safety standards.
•    Operate and oversee the use and maintenance of ground service equipment; ensure availability of required fuel, equipment, and operational supplies.
•    Ensure compliance with corporate, departmental, OH&S, and Shell Canada safety and quality standards.
•    Conduct operational, safety, and security audits; track corrective actions and support continuous improvement initiatives.
•    Monitor and ensure achievement of KPIs, service standards, and safety targets.
•    Lead and participate in safety programs, including daily safety talks, monthly meetings, and regular inspections.
•    Complete and submit incident reports, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution of corrective actions.
•    Address customer concerns and complaints professionally, ensuring timely and positive resolution.
•    Support the Base Manager in operational and safety initiatives; act as designate, including issuing work permits for contractors when required.
•    Maintain a tidy and orderly work area exhibiting pride in work performance and contributing to a healthy and safe work environment.
•    Ensure exceptional, courteous, and respectful customer service.
•    Comply with and participate in the Company’s Health & Safety and Quality programs and initiatives.
•    Perform any other duties as required.

Experience and Qualifications: 

•    Completion of a certificate or diploma in Aviation or related field an asset.
•    Minimum 2 years previous supervisory experience with proven leadership abilities.
•    Minimum five years of experience in an aviation operational role required.
•    Previous training experience is an asset.
•    Able to obtain a security clearance to work airside is required.
•    Class 3 license with Air Brake Endorsement is required.
•    Clean driver’s abstract is required.
•    Understanding of mathematics and basic computer skills.
•    Able to obtain a Restricted Radio Operator Certificate - Aeronautical.
•    Strong attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
•    Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills.
•    Able to work well under pressure.
•    Intermediate computer skills are required (database management, Microsoft Office Suite).
•    Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills. 
•    Professional, punctual, meticulous, and diligent. 
•    First Aid and CPR are an asset
•    Effective verbal and written communicate skills
•    Highly motivated with a strong work ethic and positive team attitude
•    Able to work with minimal or no supervision
•    Ability to work in all types of inclement weather conditions
•    Ability to work overtime, extended shifts, weekends, and general holidays
•    Able to work both independently and collaboratively as a productive member of the EFC Team.
